THE FUCKING COVER!!!

After months of bashing my head against the wall and obsessive sketching, I've arrived at the simplest conclusion that was staring me in the face all along. DUH. It's usually the simplest things that work out in the end.

Covers for the graphic novel. Maybe.

I've been working out all the kinks to get The Deadbeat ready to print. Additions, changes and whatever. I'll post the cover and some new art later. I did a pin up for another Alterna guy Jeff McComsey for his second volume of AMERICAN TERROR. Here it is.

SPX was swell!

I had a wonderful time at SPX. I am just recovering from the trip. I met up with my pal Jason Rainey, who I haven't seen in five years. We read and talked comix, we ate at Popeye's and we chilled with 'The Deadbeat' who was spotted around SPX saturday. A young lady snapped the photo of him. I met a shitload of talented folks, I picked up the latest issue of 'Breathers,' Awesome. I also met the Alterna comics crew. Peter Semeti, the fella who is going to publish my book is a great guy, actually meeting him put all my fears to rest as far as getting this thing out. We seem to be on the same page. Anyhoo. I've never seen so many drunk cartoonists in one place. Coming back home was depressing. I felt like Harry Potter when he leaves Hogwarts and has to live with the Dursleys. Oh well, on to the next I suppose.

I just finished drawing the last page of my book! Sleepy time for me.

This is the cover for the final issue of the Deadbeat. I like it because it has pretty colors and it doesn't give away a damn thing about what happens during the grand finale. I'm pretty sure I'll be done in time for SPX. God willing... The whole story will be published in one neat graphic novel, by the good folks at Alterna comics. I signed a contract a month or so ago. It will be released early next year. I am happy.

NEWS

Hey, I've been working on the last issue of The Deadbeat. It will be ready in time for SPX. I have a table there and a hotel room. Come visit me and we will drink. The Deadbeat will be collected in Graphic Novel form. I'm pretty stoked. more on that later. I also spent last Saturday at a 'Meet and Greet' At my local comic shop. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. Some folks are reviewing some of my books on podcasts and websites, I'll throw links up soon.

My Eyes Are Bleeding!

I might have gotten word that someone wants to put my book out. I might have started drawing a page a day in excitement. I might be done by the end of the month. My eyes might be bleeding. I might die from an overdose of caffeine. Then again I might be full of shit.

One thing you should really do is go over to www.justmadbooks.com and order a copy of BREATHERS #2 that guy angers me with how good he is. I'm a fan.

Issue 2 3/4

Well, the Deadbeat page count has swollen. Originally it was going to be three issues long. Well, now we're looking at four. This presents a problem, the first two issues, which have already been printed up, say: 1 of 3 or 2 of 3. So if I have four issues what do I do. Then it hit me...FRACTIONS. So, the next issue of the Deadbeat will be 2 3/4. It will include parts 4 and 5, and the final issue, which will still be #3 will be comprised of the sixth and final chapter. Thus my lazy ass will not have to change the covers of the first two issues....AH. I feel better.

Snake Eyes

I had a nerd orgasm when I saw this. The seven year old in me stared wide eyed. Apparently, someone is making a G.I. Joe movie. And, they at least got the look of my favorite character down.

SPACE travel

I'm gearing up for my trip to SPACE. The convention in Columbus OH not the vacuum of stars and galaxies etc. I'm printing up copies of the first two issues of The DEADBEAT and also reprinting PORNIN' the first mini I ever did that was a one complete story. I made a neat wraparound cover for it. I really like it. I will also have a new mini that I'll be making out of little daily panels I've been doing. I think It'll be called MR. SPACEMAN. Finally, I have a few copies of FUNK (my early and self indulgent work from college.) once those copies are gone I am hoping to never see those stories again. I haven't been told were my table is yet but I figure it'll be divulged soon.
